Register Your Interest In Diabetes Research

New medical treatments and therapies are being developed through research all the time,
bringing hope to people living with diabetes. But the researchers making these breakthroughs need your help. The Scottish Diabetes Research Network’s (SDRN) Research Register gives all patients with diabetes, living in Scotland, an opportunity to be contacted about taking part in research studies (click here to read our FAQs).

By joining the SDRN Research Register, you allow us to securely access your NHS computer records. If a research study would benefit from someone with your health profile taking part, a member of the research team will contact you to provide more information and ask if you would be interested. It will always be your choice.

Simply send an email to admin{at}sdrn.org.uk including the following information about youself:

  • Full Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Postcode
  • Your preferred method of contact: telephone, email or post.
(if you choose telephone please provide us with a number)

You will receive an email confirming that you have been added to the Research Register. If, after joining, you decide you want to withdraw all you need to do is contact the SDRN Office at withdraw{at}sdrn.org.uk.

Terms of Agreement: The SDRN is committed to maintaining patient confidentiality. Access to your information will be strictly controlled & only used for the purposes outlined above. You may withdraw from the register at any time. Withdrawal will not affect the care you receive in any way.

Or you could complete one of our leaflets, which can be found at clinics around the country.
